NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES
 May 7, 2009

Warm weather is here again and there is little or no evidence of the freeze we had just a few short months ago.  Everything seems to have been trimmed back or replaced.  Our front entrance looks great!  Thanks Marie!
We have two new board members, Ed Sandor and Ed Seibert and they are already hard at work.  Ed Sandor is learning the ropes of being our new Treasurer and has reactivated our Welcome letters.  Ed Seibert is our new Vice President and is already familiar with our neighborhood.  He is helping everywhere and is maintaining our owner list.
As always, please remember that we have a 2 dog limit per household.  If you have 2 dogs, PLEASE do not get another.  Those of you with dogs, PLEASE keep them leashed and in your yard, if you are not walking them.
For any newcomers, Tuesday and Friday are trash days and the pick up times vary.  Recycle gets picked up on Fridays, usually very early.  Wednesday is yard trash day and each owner needs to make sure that yard waste does not go to the curb earlier than the night before.  It is each owner’s responsibility to make sure that yard waste does not become a problem and the association will monitor this.
For information purposes only, be aware that it is termite swarming season and some of us have had problems with termites.  If you think you have seen what looks like flying ants, make sure that you are protected.
There have been a few instances recently of cars being broken into.  If you leave your vehicles in the driveway, make sure they are secured.  We are looking into a neighborhood watch program, but please keep your eyes open.

NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES

January 3, 2009

The beginning of a new year is here.  Christmas lights are still, up for a short time, but Christmas is officially over.

There are many “For Sale” signs up around the area, but over all the area is looking very good.

We have our annual meeting on February 19, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., at the Lutheran Church.  We are considering a one-time reduction in the homeowner’s dues, due to a budget surplus.  In order to make this happen, we will need voter turn out.  Every year, we have the problem of not enough homeowner attendance.  Please make every effort to be in attendance.

Also, some of our new owners are not aware that we have a 2 dog limit per household.

Wednesday is yard trash day and this also varies.  Please put your waste at the curb not earlier than the night before.

NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES
 October 15, 2008

The summer is past and many of our lawns took a beating with the dry and hot weather.  We are sad when a hurricane hits anywhere, but thankful that we have been spared, so far, this year.
With the slump in the economy and many homeowners being absent, we are facing some problems with yard maintenance.  With absentee owners, this has especially been a problem.  Someone mentioned the other day that they spent at least an hour a day in their yard just to keep pace with the weeds.  We can use all the assistance anyone can provide to help the Board monitor problem lawns and, perhaps, if the owner is having problems that we are unaware of, please let us know, so that we can work together as neighbors to maintain our great area.
Political signs have been a problem recently and, just to make some of you aware, we tried to amend the restrictions to allow for certain types of signs for certain occasions and we did not receive enough response for even a vote.
Also, some of our new owners are not aware that we have a 2 dog limit per household.
Wednesday is yard trash day and this also varies.  Please put your waste at the curb not earlier than the night before.
