     NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES

 January 16, 2012

Our neighborhood looks great and for those of you who do your own lawn maintenance, you don’t have to take out the mower as much.  If you don’t, you still have to pay the same amount.

Now is a good time for all homeowners to take a look at your sidewalks and the exterior of your homes.  Since the hot days and rain are mostly behind us, we need to look at what needs to be power washed and/or painted.

The number of feral cats has abated, but we still have to be conscious of not feeding them.  In a short period of time, they could return.

As always, please remember that we have a 2 dog limit per household.  If you have 2 dogs, PLEASE do not get another.  Those of you with dogs, PLEASE keep them leashed and in your yard, if you are not walking them.

For any newcomers, Tuesday and Friday are trash days and the pickup times vary.  Recycle gets picked up on Fridays, usually very early.  Thursday is yard trash day and each owner needs to make sure that yard waste does not go to the curb earlier than the night before, except for yard waste which is no earlier that the day before.  It is each owner’s responsibility to make sure that yard waste does not become a problem and the association will monitor this.

     NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES

 February, 2011

Our neighborhood matches again…brown, brown and brown.  There have also been some colorful sheets, blankets and towels seen around to save sensitive plants.  The only thing that seems to sprout with one warm day and a little rain is the dollar weed.  Some of our owners have been reduced to planting rye grass.  It looks nice, but will be hard to rake up when it warms up and dies.  Although it doesn’t look very nice to leave our brown and shriveled plants not trimmed, the theory is that the dead foliage will protect the plant from further freeze.  Most plants come back, but some don’t.  We are getting a break on the weeds, though, so there is a silver lining.

We have recently noticed an increase in the number of feral cats in our neighborhood.  As with all wild animals, please do not feed them.  They will never leave if we do.

As always, please remember that we have a 2 dog limit per household.  If you have 2 dogs, PLEASE do not get another.  Those of you with dogs, PLEASE keep them leashed and in your yard, if you are not walking them.
